About Dr. Tan
Dr. Adam Tan DMD FAGD is a best selling author for a book he co-authored titled “Healthy Input: America’s Leading Dentists Reveal the Secret Truths to a Healthy Body, Starting with What You Put in Your Mouth” featuring advice and practices from the leading dental experts. All proceed from the sale of that book was given by the Doctors to charity.
Dr. Tan's credentials include: Past President of the Muskoka-Simcoe Dental Society (MSDS), Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) and Academy of Osseointegration, member of the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, and completing his Fellowship with the International Association of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Academy of Cranial Facial Pain (Canadian Chapter), American Academy of Facial Esthetics and the International Association of Orthodontics.
Dr. Tan actively promotes giving back to the community through bi-annual Dental Charity event “Smiles On Us,” providing dentistry to all underserved members of the community. He participates annually as a major sponsor, fundraising for The Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital, the Orillia YMCA, and the Ontario Provincial Police bike giveaways for their Children’s Safety Village in Orillia, which teaches public school children about traffic safety, the D.A.R.E programs in Barrie that promotes drug awareness for students.
Dr. Tan has appeared on A Channel News, CTV News, the CBC Morning Show, KICX 106 FM and The Dock, Sunshine 89.1 FM Radio as well as The Orillia Packet and Times and Orillia Today newspapers.
His certifications include: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Therapeutic Botox, Surgical and prosthetic implant procedures for leading implant systems including Nobel Biocare, Straumann, 3i, Bicon, Paragon, Biohorizon, Zimmer, attending International Implant Symposiums and advanced zygomatic implant techniques from Manhattan, New York including the use of Computer Guided Implant Surgery (NobelGuide) and advanced surgical techniques with the NobelActive implant system. Certified for advanced CAD/CAM restorations using CEREC technology from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Certified for conscious sedation (oral, nitrous, and intravenous), Certified in orthodontics with the Comprehensive Straight Wire and Functional Orthodontics Program, Invisalign certified level 1 and 2 (he is an Invisalign Teen, Invisalign Express and Invisalign provider that is recognized as an Invisalign Preferred Provider), and Certified in all wavelengths of dental lasers.
Dr. Tan is married to Wendy, whom he met at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, while obtaining his Bachelors of Science Degree with Honors. He went on to attain his degree in Doctor of Dental Medicine at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Tan and Wendy are now blessed with three sons Ryan, Daniel and Lucas. Dr. Tan enjoys spending time and traveling with his family.
